Fork & Merge Strategy: MT5 Trading Bot Monorepo Integration
Executive Summary
This document outlines the systematic approach for forking, integrating, and merging 25 MT5 trading bot repositories into a single enterprise-grade monorepo. The strategy prioritizes code quality, licensing compliance, and architectural coherence.
Phase 1: Pre-Integration Analysis (Week 1, Days 1-2)
1.1 Repository Analysis Framework
For each of the 7 Week 1 priority repositories:
1. Clone repository
2. Document structure:
- Directory layout
- File count and size
- Key dependencies
- External API requirements
3. Identify core components:
- ML/AI models
- Data processing pipelines
- Trading execution engines
- Risk management systems
- GUI/Monitoring components
4. Map dependencies:
- Internal module dependencies
- External library requirements
- Version constraints
5. Extract unique features:
- Proprietary algorithms
- Novel implementations
- Performance optimizations
1.2 Duplication Audit
Identify and document:
- Duplicate code segments (>100 lines)
- Redundant implementations of similar functions
- Overlapping library dependencies
- Common configuration patterns
- Repeated utility functions
1.3 Dependency Mapping
Create dependency matrix:
- Repository A depends on concepts from Repository B
- Shared external libraries
- Version compatibility issues
- Circular dependency risks
Phase 2: Architecture Design (Week 1, Days 3-4)
2.1 Monorepo Directory Structure

2.2 Module Interface Definitions
# Define clear interfaces for each major component
# RL Algorithm Interface
class RLAgent(ABC):
@abstractmethod
def predict(self, observation: np.ndarray) -> Tuple[Action, Value]:
pass
@abstractmethod
def learn(self, trajectories: List[Trajectory]) -> Dict[str, float]:
pass
@abstractmethod
def save(self, path: str) -> None:
pass
# Environment Interface
class TradingEnvironment(gym.Env):
@abstractmethod
def reset(self) -> Observation:
pass
@abstractmethod
def step(self, action: Action) -> Tuple[Observation, Reward, Done, Info]:
pass
# Strategy Interface
class TradingStrategy(ABC):
@abstractmethod
def generate_signal(self, market_data: MarketData) -> Signal:
pass
2.3 Dependency Resolution Strategy
1. Extract common utilities into shared modules
2. Create adapter patterns for different implementations
3. Establish clear API boundaries
4. Use configuration to switch between implementations
5. Version all external dependencies explicitly
Phase 3: Integration Preparation (Week 1, Day 5)
3.1 Repository Forking Checklist
For each Week 1 priority repo:
- Fork to triqbit organization
- Clone locally
- Create
integrationbranch - Review and document existing code
- Identify components to integrate
- Create integration plan
- Document any breaking changes needed
- Get approvals for significant changes
3.2 Namespace Configuration
# Create namespace packages to avoid conflicts
# mt5_ai/
# ├── __init__.py (namespace package)
# ├── core/
# ├── strategies/
# └── utils/
# This allows:
# from mt5_ai.core.rl_algorithms import PPO
# from mt5_ai.strategies.momentum import MomentumStrategy
3.3 Test Framework Setup
Create comprehensive test suite:
- Unit tests for each component
- Integration tests for component interactions
- Backtesting framework
- Performance benchmarks
- Smoke tests for deployment
Phase 4: First Integration Sprint (Week 1, Days 6-7)
4.1 Integration Sequence
Step 1: Core RL Algorithms (Days 6)
- Integrate zero-was-here/tradingbot PPO implementation
- Integrate rezakarbasi/RL-agent-trader components
- Integrate CodeDestroyer19 neural network utilities
- Resolve conflicts and optimize
- Create unified RL agent interface
Step 2: Environment Framework (Day 6-7)
- Integrate AminHP/gym-mtsim as base environment
- Extend with custom MT5-specific environments
- Create environment factory
- Implement environment validation tests
Step 3: Risk Management (Day 7)
- Integrate ilahuerta-IA risk management system
- Implement Ray Dalio portfolio allocation
- Create position sizing calculator
- Add compliance validators
Step 4: Unified Configuration (Day 7)
- Create centralized configuration system

- Document all parameters
Step 5: Initial Testing (Day 7)
- Run unit tests for each component
- Run integration tests
- Run smoke tests
- Document any issues
- Create remediation plan
4.2 Conflict Resolution Strategy
When conflicts arise:
1. Identify the root cause
2. Evaluate all approaches
3. Select the best implementation based on:
- Performance
- Maintainability
- Consistency with architecture
- Community adoption
4. Document the decision
5. Implement the solution
6. Update tests
7. Commit with clear message
4.3 Code Review Process
For each integration:
1. Create feature branch
2. Implement changes
3. Write/update tests
4. Submit PR with:

Best Practices
Do's
- ✅ Keep commits atomic and well-documented
- ✅ Write tests for all new code
- ✅ Document breaking changes
- ✅ Use consistent naming conventions
- ✅ Review code before merging
- ✅ Maintain backwards compatibility where possible
- ✅ Version all dependencies explicitly
Don'ts
- ❌ Don't merge without tests passing
- ❌ Don't leave TODO comments without issues
- ❌ Don't ignore deprecation warnings
- ❌ Don't modify strategy files without approval
- ❌ Don't hardcode configuration values
- ❌ Don't skip license compliance checks
- ❌ Don't break existing APIs without major version bump
Success Criteria
- All 7 Week 1 repos analyzed and understood
- Monorepo structure established
- Core RL algorithms integrated
- Environment framework integrated
- Risk management system integrated
- All unit tests passing
- Integration tests passing
- Documentation complete
- Code review completed
- Ready for Week 2-3 integration
Rollback Plan
If integration causes critical issues:
- Identify the problematic component
- Create a rollback branch
- Remove the component
- Verify all tests pass
- Commit and document issue
- Schedule re-integration after fix
