Institutional Session Analysis Single Pro (v2.00)

Intraday Market Profiling, High-Performance Multi-Session Framework & Volume-Weighted Value Suite

1. Summary (Introduction)

Session Analysis Single Pro (v2.00) is an institutional-grade, real-time intraday market profiling, volume-weighted fair-value tracking, and structural boundary engine.

In professional trading, the 24-hour cycle is not a single homogeneous block of price action. Volatility, order flow distribution, and institutional participation shift dynamically across specific daylight segments. This indicator segmentizes the trading day into four custom-defined, daylight-aligned sub-sessions based on your broker's server time:

  1. Pre-Market Session: Tracks early positioning, overnight order buildup, and Asian/European transition gaps.
  2. Core Trading Session: Tracks the primary high-liquidity open-to-close period of the local exchange (where institutional direction is established).
  3. Post-Market Session: Tracks late-day settlement, late block trades, and closing Market-on-Close (MOC) imbalance orders.
  4. Full Day Session: Combines the entire daily cycle into a single, unified macro perspective.

For each active sub-session, the indicator draws high-low structural Support/Resistance boundaries (Session Boxes), calculates the arithmetic Mean, projects least-squares Linear Regression trendlines (a + bX), and plots gapped, alternating Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) lines to eliminate cross-session visual distortion.

2. Mathematical & Algorithmic Foundations

The underlying Session_Analysis_Calculator.mqh and VWAP_Calculator.mqh engines compute four distinct mathematical baselines for each active sub-session:

2.1. Session Support & Resistance Boundaries (High/Low)

For each identified session starting at bar S and ending at bar E, the indicator dynamically tracks the absolute highest high and lowest low of the chosen price source (Standard or Heikin Ashi):

\text{Session High} = \max_{j=S \dots E} (H_j), \quad \text{Session Low} = \min_{j=S \dots E} (L_j)

2.2. Session Mean Price

Calculates the simple arithmetic average of the user-selected Source Price (P_i):

\text{Mean Price} = \frac{1}{W} \sum_{i=S}^{E} P_i

where W = E - S + 1 represents the active session width (bar count).

2.3. Least-Squares Linear Regression Line

Projects the least-squares best-fit trendline across the active session to measure directional velocity and trend integrity:

\text{Slope } (b) = \frac{W \sum_{i=S}^{E} (X_i \cdot Y_i) - \sum_{i=S}^{E} X_i \sum_{i=S}^{E} Y_i}{W \sum_{i=S}^{E} X_i^2 - \left(\sum_{i=S}^{E} X_i\right)^2} \text{Intercept } (a) = \frac{\sum_{i=S}^{E} Y_i - b \sum_{i=S}^{E} X_i}{W} \text{Start Price} = a, \quad \text{End Price} = a + b \cdot (W - 1)

where X_i represents chronological coordinates (0 \dots W-1) and Y_i represents price P_i.

2.4. Gapped, Alternating Session VWAP

VWAP is calculated cumulatively starting from the first bar of each session (S) and resets to zero at the start of the next session:

\text{VWAP}_t = \frac{\sum_{i=S}^{t} (P_i \cdot V_i)}{\sum_{i=S}^{t} V_i}

To prevent MetaTrader from drawing an errant diagonal connection line from the close of one session to the open of the next, VWAP is mapped into alternating Odd and Even buffers:

  • Odd Sessions (1, 3, 5...): Written to Buffer_Odd[], while Buffer_Even[] is filled with EMPTY_VALUE.
  • Even Sessions (2, 4, 6...): Written to Buffer_Even[], while Buffer_Odd[] is filled with EMPTY_VALUE.

3. The v2.00 Enterprise Performance Upgrades (Zero-Lag Multi-Chart Engine)

Version 2.00 resolves the severe multi-chart tick-freezing and latency anomalies experienced in high-density workspaces (e.g., 14 open charts \times 4 session indicators = 56 instances):

3.1. Elimination of the O(N) VWAP Calculation Bottleneck

  • Legacy Flaw (v1.21): The legacy CVWAPCalculator::Calculate method calculated start_index, but immediately executed an unconstrained loop for(int i = 0; i < rates_total; i++). On every incoming tick, it rescanned the entire 50,000-bar history from bar 0 across all 4 sessions, executing over 11.2 million redundant TimeToStruct calendar calls per tick.

  • v2.00 Enterprise Solution: Refactored into a True O(1) Stateful Engine (m_cache_tpv, m_cache_vol, m_cache_period_idx, m_cache_in_session). On incoming ticks, it loads the committed state from bar i-1 and re-evaluates only the single active forming bar. Computational throughput increased by 50,000x.

3.2. Elimination of Unthrottled ChartRedraw() in OnCalculate

  • Legacy Flaw (v1.21): The indicator called ChartRedraw() synchronously at the end of every OnCalculate() invocation. With 4 session indicators per chart, every tick triggered 4 immediate redraws per window, choking the Windows DirectX/GDI rendering queue and causing the chart to freeze on an old price before jumping.

  • v2.00 Enterprise Solution: Completely removed unconditional ChartRedraw(). MetaTrader natively and asynchronously repaints the 8 indicator buffers upon OnCalculate exit without blocking the UI thread.

3.3. Graphic Object Change Guards (Zero GDI Spam)

  • Legacy Flaw (v1.21): The session box drawer called ObjectMove() on every tick for forming sessions, sending thousands of redundant property update messages to the operating system even when the price had not made a new high or low.

  • v2.00 Enterprise Solution: Introduced state change guards (m_last_drawn_high, m_last_drawn_low, m_last_drawn_end_bar). ObjectMove() and linear regression math are executed strictly when session price boundaries actually expand or roll to a new bar.

3.4. Retained Legacy Bug Fixes (From v1.21)

  • Weighted Price Memory Fix: Fixed array index multiplication bug close[i * 2.0] \rightarrow corrected to (high[i] + low[i] + 2.0 * close[i]) * 0.25, permanently eliminating downward vertical line striations.

  • Ghost Line Wipe Fix: Wrapped buffer resets inside if(prev_calculated == 0), preventing historical VWAP segments from being wiped on live ticks.

  • Trendline Boundary Locking: Explicitly sets OBJPROP_RAY_RIGHT = false and OBJPROP_RAY_LEFT = false on all Mean and LinReg objects.

Engineering Benchmark: Legacy (v1.21) vs. Enterprise (v2.00)

Metric Legacy Implementation (v1.21) Enterprise Refactor (v2.00) Net Optimization

6.1. The Pre-Market Liquidity Sweep (Core Open Reversion)

  • Premise: The Pre-Market range represents retail and overnight resting limit orders. Institutional market makers frequently engineer an opening sweep outside the Pre-Market Box boundaries to absorb liquidity before driving true directional momentum.
  • Execution:
    1. Identify the High and Low boundaries of the completed Pre-Market Session Box.
    2. At the open of the Core Trading Session (e.g., NYSE 16:30 Broker Time / 09:30 EST), monitor for an aggressive price spike piercing the Pre-Market High or Low.
    3. Bullish Reversal: Price sweeps below the Pre-Market Low but immediately closes back inside the box, printing a long lower rejection wick \rightarrow Enter Long. Target: Pre-Market High or developing Core VWAP.
    4. Bearish Reversal: Price sweeps above the Pre-Market High but closes back inside the box \rightarrow Enter Short.

6.2. Core Session VWAP Mean-Reversion Squeeze

  • Context: Price expands strongly towards the upper or lower boundary of the active Core Session Box, deviating significantly from Core VWAP.
  • Execution:
    • Confirm that the Linear Regression Trendline slope begins to flatten out horizontally.
    • Look for a reversal candlestick rejection at the boundary of the box.
    • Trade: Enter counter-trend reversion targeting the Core VWAP line (the dynamic institutional fair-value center of gravity).
